Professor and Deputy Head of the Geography Department
Professor Costis Chadjimichalis is a professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Geography at Harokopio University. He holds a Ph.D in Economic Geography and Regional Development (UCLA, 1980), an MA in Regional Development (UCLA, 1976) and a Diploma of Architectural Engineering (AUTH, 1968). Professor Costis' research interests are in: economic and cultural geography; landscapes; local and regional development; uneven development in Southern Europe, the Mediterranean and Latin America; The informal sector and SMEs, and European spatial planning.
He is managing editor of the Greek journal Geographies and section editor for the Regional Development International Encyclopedia of Human Geography. He is currently a member of the editorial team in the journals: ACME, Human Geography: A New Radical Journal, Boletín de la Associaciòn de Geógrafos Españoles and of the scientific committee of Edizioni Ledizioni, Milano, for the book series: Città, Società e Governo.
